We usually use our removable braces with children and adolescents to enable the permanent teeth to erupt and to optimally position the jaws in relation to one another (devices such as activator, bionator, push or pushback double plate). In this way, we at the Männedorf orthodontics optimally use the growth and shorten the treatment with fixed braces. In addition to stretching and positioning the jaws, it is possible to tilt the teeth slightly with removable braces.
Tooth roots can hardly be moved, however, so that in the course of orthodontic therapy in the Männedorf fixed braces (e.g. an internal one) will be used.

Functional orthodontic devices use the natural muscle strength of the jaw muscles and tissues. Active braces exert a pre-calculated pressure on the teeth and move them into the correct position (e.g. by means of spring elements).
